We take a look back at Spocom from 2022 and the craziness that went down there

Summer time is one of those times of year that is both a curse and a blessing for me. Ever since I was a kid I had connected summer time with vacation and fun times not being in school. But, as an adult that feeling went away about as fast as my hairline. But, while I don’t have those vacation days to like before I do have a lot more to look forward to than just vacation. Summer nowadays is when the car show circuit really hits its stride. From springtime all the way through late fall there are a ton of shows and events that take place. One of those shows is one of the biggest and baddest of the year. Yes folks, that show is one that I hold near and dear to my heart. That show is Spocom.
Spocom has been around for many years now and if you’ve followed us for any length of time then you know how we feel about it. I can set my watch every year for certain events and shows that I look forward to and Spocom is definitely one of those shows. This show brings together everything that makes the tuner scene great. From the cars (which are some of the best of the best not only locally but from around the country) to the vendors (with some heavy hitters such as Toyo Tires) and some of the hottest models you’ll ever find. It’s so much fun I look forward to it months in advance.
One of my favorite parts of this show is meeting all the new people. I know it’s a car show but this show is so big that I know a lot of other photographers and car fanatics feel the same as I do. It’s one of the few shows that brings everyone together. People I hadn’t seen in years were at this show, and there were a lot of new people there as well. In fact, that was one of the biggest surprises. While the last few years are what I like to consider lost the one thing that hadn’t really changed was Spocom. So, seeing people and re-connecting just like old times was fantastic. It’s probably one of the lasting legacies of this show. No matter what happens and where we are this is one show that I feel is the industry constant. I hope that things stay this way because this show is a gauge for the industry and where things are at.
That being said, this show was great. Check out just some of the amazing cars and models that we saw at this last event. If you haven’t been to Spocom definitely make time for the next one and make it out. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at just how much fun you can have. Kudos to Paula Pinks also for winning the bikini contest. We had interviewed her several years back and she is a real sweetheart. So, seeing her win was really awesome. Big ups to all of the winners of the car show as well. Until next year!
